... se anche noi, ogni tanto, ci ricordassimo che è giustappunto verso una fine comunque ingloriosa che corriamo, può darsi che passeremmo molto più tempo a mangiare dolcetti che invece dovremmo serbare, piuttosto che angustiarci l’oggi impedendoci di fare qualsiasi cosa in nome di un domani che non si capisce bene quand’è che arriverà (arriverà?).

but if we reminded ourselves that after all we're running towards a miserable end, maybe we'd spend way more time eating the sweets that we should supposedly save, rather than making our today bitter by preventing ourselves from doing anything in the name of a tomorrow that may never come (will it come?)
