he's too young to have become cynical, to have lost hope. nothing's impossible, there's always the sense of wonder and amazement.
they will come, they will go. where he's going, what he's waiting for, no one knows. maybe he's not waiting for any one in particular. maybe he doesn't know what he's waiting for.

Isabel - There's nothing to say.
Alex - Just wait a minute there might be. This afternoon I couldn't decide between a Texas burger and a tuna melt, but my life made sense, you know, and now I know exactly what I want and my life doesn't make any sense. And I was doing fine this afternoon, I was doing great, that was me, it was me then. And now I'm with you and I don't know what happened, but somewhere between the tuna melt and your aunt's tamales... I mean I was actually worried that I'd already met the woman of my dreams at the dry cleaner's or something, and I was too busy to notice, but then you show up and I realize that that's not true. Because you're the one. You are everything I never knew I always wanted. I'm not even sure what that means exactly, but I think it has something to do with the rest of my life.
